This intimate, dark bar has hosted indie-rock shows since 1997, when Scott Sterling of the Fold began booking bands here. The low, almost eye-level stage helped launch the careers of Silversun Pickups, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, Devendra Banhart, Rufus Wainwright, Cold War Kids, and countless others. Parking may be scarce, but the drinks are stiff, and the talent is golden.
