So that you get the best of Flavorpill and Flavorwire in one spot.
How many days a week will I get an email?
By default, you will get it six days a week, Monday through Saturday.
Can I lower the frequency of emails I receive?
Yes, we recommend you try the personalized daily, but if you want a lower frequency, you can easily switch your settings and get it only on the days you want.
Why does it say the articles and events are recommended for me?
Because they are for you! We’ve engineered the emails to be personalized to your tastes, so you only get stories and events we think you’d be interested in, based on your settings and what you click on. The more you click, the more personalized your emails get.
Do I have to set preferences?
You don’t have to, but it helps us give you the email you want. You can pick not only what genres you want to see - across events and articles - but also in what cities you want to see event updates.
How do I update my preferences?
Just click on “personalize your email,” in the top right corner of the daily mailer. Or go to Flavorpill.com and click on “My Profile” in the top menu. Pick your genres (art, music, film, etc) and your city.
I am subscribed to more than one City Guide. What is my default city going to be?
In the beginning, we’re going to make our best guess, so be sure to go into your profile and pick your primary city.
Will I still get Artkrush/Boldtype/Earplug each week?
This new, consolidated email combines the best of everything we offer, including Artkrush, Boldtype, and Earplug. If you subscribed to one or more of these, your preferences will include art, books, and/or music.
I don’t live in a Flavorpill city and don’t want to get emails about events in other places. Can I set my preferences to only receive Flavorwire stories?
Yes, of course. Sure. If you only want to receive articles, that’s all you’ll get. But be sure to tell us what city you’re in, so we can let you know when we start listing events there.
I don’t have time to read Flavorwire stories, can I set my preferences to only receive event information?
We’re going to send you a few featured cultural articles in every issue, and we know you’ll love them, so give it a try. If you don’t like them, send us feedback and let us know!
What is the little blurb on the right of the mailer below the ad? It doesn’t show up every day, why not? How do you pick which days it shows up?
That’s a personalized note from a Flavorpill Editor. It shows up when we want to add a little more flavor to the mailer.
How do you decide which stories I get?
Your emails are based on the preferences you set and on what you show interest in when you click on articles and events.
Will the cover art change daily?
Yes! We’re sourcing these works from great partners, so you can now buy prints of everything we feature. Just click on the /images/mailerfaq.
What is a partner post?

Do you only email events that are happening that day?
No, the listings cover events happening today, tomorrow, and up to two weeks from now. If you want even more events, just check out Flavorpill.com.
How do I find out about events happening in other cities?
Just go to your settings and select other cities and we’ll send you those listings in the mailer too. Or go to Flavorpill.com and click the drop down city menu at the top left.
What is the gift icon next to some of the events?
They indicate a related giveaway. You could win tickets to the event or other prizes by clicking on the icon and entering the giveaway.
What is the Featured Venue Partner section?
It’s an event from one of our Flavorpill Venue Partners, a shortlist of venues in each city selected by our editors.
