A pioneer of American precisionism and modernism, Charles Demuth was also involved in Paris' early 20th-century avant-garde scene, where he hung out with American ex-pats such as Marsden Hartley. Gathering a collection of paintings focusing on chimneys and towers in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, this exhibition evokes Demuth's refined sensibility in capturing local structures through his precise and geometrical aesthetic. This exhibit also features "After All..." (1933), the last oil Demuth is known to have created.
