Glexis Novoa's aesthetic is unlike any other in Miami. For one, he draws on polished marble slabs — the textures and natural patterns on the differing stone surfaces complement the overall compositions — creating somewhat prescient cityscapes that incorporate art-historical elements of the past (a silhouette of Myron's Discobolus), iconic imagery (statues of despots and images of martyrs), and futuristic structures. This postmodern vision is often paradoxical, sometimes humorous, and always highly engaging.
