Nelson Faria (guitar), Ney Conceição (bass), and Kiko Freitas (drums) form the core of legendary Brazilian vocalist/composer João Bosco's band. But playing without Bosco as Nosso Trio, they unleash super-tight, progressive Brazilian jazz that blends uncompromising rhythms with intelligent, kinetic lines. Presented by Rhythm Foundation and the University of Miami's Frost School of Music as part of the ongoing Festival Miami, expect a hardcore jazz crowd, and maybe an appearance by hard charging Cuban pianist and Miami resident Gonzalo Rubalcaba, with whom the trio has played before.
