More Flavor: City Gem Christine's Roti Shop

Christine's Roti Shop is a North Miami Beach institution. Just after Hurricane Wilma, when the power was out across the city for three weeks in some places, patrons lined up outside as Christine slaved over a camping oven in the back preparing spicy rotis — thick, doughy chickpea flatbreads stuffed full of stewed potatos, vegetables, and various meats, such as chicken, beef, or duck. Hell, even when there isn't a hurricane there's a line. Thankfully, it's always worth the wait.
