More Flavor: Discussion An Evening with Gary Sinise

How the folks at the Fort Lauderdale Film Festival managed to snag an actor as colorful as Gary Sinise must be a testament to their cunning — or (more likely) their increasing importance in the filmscape. Star of such blockbusters as The Green Mile, Apollo 13, and Forrest Gump (for which he won an Oscar), and director of farm fable Miles from Home (with Richard Gere) and a stunning adaptation Of Mice and Men (in which he starred alongside pal John Malkovich), Sinise is at his best in shiftier roles, as in Ransom and Snake Eyes. And while it might be his role as Lt. Mac Taylor on CSI: NY that brings him here tonight, his co-founding of Chicago's legendary Steppenwolf Theatre Company is his most lasting achievement. Face it, the man is a classic.
