MAYDAY! make protest boom-bap, the type of hip-hop that screams rebellion, if only from the sound of a sucker punch that knocks the wind out of you. MC Bern Biz and keyboardist/producer Plex have been holding it down on the local scene for a while, sticking it to those powers that be through rhymes and hard-hitting, instrumentally adventurous tracks that dissect the scary status quo. Tonight, they hit it hard for a full three sets.
