Pete Seeger: The Power of Song

Most folks know Pete Seeger from classic tunes like "Turn! Turn! Turn!," "If I Had a Hammer," and "Where Have All the Flowers Gone?" but none of the citizen-artist's songs have resounded more forcefully than his version of "We Shall Overcome," which became the definitive battle cry of the Civil Rights movement. The song could be the story of the man's remarkable life: Jim Brown's brilliantly crafted documentary — a thematic sequel to his The Weavers: Wasn't That a Time! — tramps through the pickets and the protests, the blacklists and the bans, and delivers the equivalent of a cinematic sing-along.
