From the natural disasters in California, Sri Lanka, and New Orleans to the wars in the Middle East, journalist Naomi Klein has followed the growing disaster-industrial complex and big business' rapid privatization of the relief and redevelopment industry. Tonight, Klein discusses her new book, The Shock Doctrine: The Rise of Disaster Capitalism, which shows how, over the past 50 years (especially during the current presidential administration), a booming business has emerged to profit from, rather than help, those who can't help themselves.
