The CIFO flexes its conceptual muscle with this wide-ranging multimedia exhibition culled from its permanent collection. These Fortunate Objects aren't always what they seem; the artists transform familiar items — whether domestic, industrial, or strictly personal — on both conceptual and aesthetic levels, providing new, unexpected perspectives. The show is divvied into three sections: "The Appropriated Object, or the Assisted Readymade"; "The Surrogate or Constructed Object"; and "The Object Used." Highlights include Damien Hirst's The Blood of Christ, a gleaming stainless-steel cabinet containing blood-coated pills; Olafur Eliasson's trippy Blue Double Kaleidoscope; and Sleeping Box, Mateo López's safe haven of a makeshift cabin.
