ArtHernan Bas: Works from the Rubell Family Collection
-
- Hernan Bas, Too Pretty
Hernan Bas is Miami's biggest art star, creating darkly poetic, romanticized works read as chapters in an epic, sometimes mythical, and often decadent literary novel (see references to Wilde and Huysmans). Bas creates videos, drawings, and installations, yet most striking are his paintings — always dark, but enlivened by expressionist dabs of color. His early career is highlighted at the Rubell Family Collection with 38 works spanning nine years, installed in ten galleries throughout the foundation. While you're there, make sure to check out John Stezaker's solo exhibition, as well as the massive group show Euro-Centric, Part 1: New European Art from the Rubell Family Collection. [Info Source]
