Kenneth Branagh's remake of Sleuth may not get nominated for the same four Oscars as Joseph Mankiewicz's 1972 original; hell, it might not receive any nominations. But it won't be for lack of trying on Michael Caine and Jude Law's part — the two actors comprise the film's entire cast. Harold Pinter's script contains a story as old as suspense itself, and the royal thespians play the classic cat and rat as if their lives depended on it. The premise: who will kill the other first and walk away with the girl. It's classic high-drama entertainment.
