Although primarily a painter, Enoc Perez engages in an assiduous, multi-leveled process involving photographs, color separation, drawing, and pigment transfers to achieve his final, richly textured pieces. The Puerto Rican-born, New York-based artist is best known for his remarkable depictions of modernist edifices, including Le Corbusier's United Nations building, Eero Saarinen's TWA terminal at New York's JFK airport, and Mies van der Rohe's Seagram Building. His big MOCA exhibition at Goldman Warehouse features 35 signature canvases from 2000 to the present, along with new works on paper created specifically for this show.
