Film La Scala Opera Series presents Aida

For modern audiences, opera tends to be a bit inaccessible as a form and expensive to attend. La Scala, Italy's famed opera house is taking its show on the road and directly into movie theaters, where most of us are a bit more comfortable. Opera glasses for a pack of Twizzlers: seems like a fair trade. Filmed in high-definition and directed for both stage and screen by the great Franco Zeffirelli, Giuseppe Verdi's Aida, set in ancient Egypt, is the story of a man torn between his love for a woman and his duty to his country.
