Lenore Raphael swings with the best of them — and while you could call her a jazz diva, that doesn't quite capture what she does best. Raphael doesn't belt her tunes; the Bronx native teases them out of the piano with nimble fingers, swinging in the fashion of her idols Bud Powell and the recently deceased Oscar Peterson. Jazz has a small but rich history of lady piano-players, and Raphael upholds their legacy with true melodic grace.
