Panned by New York critics when it premiered, Wicked has proven its detractors wrong, or at least irrelevant — this hugely popular reimagining of The Wizard of Oz story has now been staged from Tokyo to Stuttgart. The tale of the relationship between the Wicked Witch of the West and the Good Witch of the North should please anyone familiar with the movie (and let's face it, who isn't?) — there's much to like in the smart, sly consideration of the way things might have been before Dorothy was swept away from Kansas.
