Spamalot, as most folks know by now, is a musical lovingly ripped off from Monty Python's cult-film farce on the King Arthur legend. Although the show is the brainchild of former Python Eric Idle, purists may still balk at the reordering of events from the film, or the borrowing of various unrelated Python songs and sketches — but the reviews have still been robust. (One critic lovingly threatened to "fart in the general direction" of anyone who pans the show. ) Expect flying cows, show tunes about dismemberment ("it's only a flesh wound"), and a stubborn insistence on always looking on the bright side of life.
