Carnaval on the Mile, one of Miami's biggest annual street parties, returns for its tenth year with an impressively diverse lineup: a who's who of local Latin funk and fusion bands, a couple of jazz cats, and some New Orleans brass and funk outfits for good measure. Tonight, Miami's favorite rock shaman/troubadour Nil Lara leads the charge; considering the rarity of his appearances, this is a big deal. Filling out the weekend are Cuban son outfit Conjunto Progreso, reggae band Soul Rebels, and New Orleans' Hot 8 Brass Band.
