Ska doesn't exactly have the best reputation these days, but the 11-man troupe Babylon Circus is working to change that. Since 1995, the French musicians have elevated their take on the genre to include enlightened elements of jazz, swing, and reggae. Tonight, the Circus traipse into town to end their first tour, after performing for some of the country's most cultivated audiences at the Festival International de Louisiane. Joining them are Rootz Underground, a roots-reggae group out of Kingston, who wisely toast traditional outfits like the Wailers, rather than jumping on the dancehall bandwagon.
