Handel's Julius Caesar may not be as historically accurate as Shakespeare's version, but it certainly ends better for the titular character: he ends up in the arms of Cleopatra instead of being stabbed to death by his senators. The thrust of the story finds Caesar in Egypt, navigating his way through a series of double-crosses and murder plots, while his love interest makes moves (in and out of the bedroom) to take control of the country. Soprano Leah Partridge and countertenor John Gaston star in Florida Grand Opera's season finale.
