As WWII was coming to a close, the Allies were hot to get their hands on the Nazis' wonderful, terrible toys, deploying crack commando teams deep behind enemy lines in attempt to do so. PBS' acclaimed documentary series traces the efforts to procure the science and scientists who created the V-2 ballistic missile (which carried over a ton of explosives and rained terror upon Europe), the high-flying Messerschmitt 163 Komet (a fighter jet of previously unmatched speed), and, of course, the atom-splitting technology that would lead to the development of the atomic bomb.
