When long-lost friends Mr. Furia and Professor Manso reconnected in 2001, they found that they had a few new things in common. First was their mutual obsession with making music, and second was each man's need for a partner in crime — thus the Pinker Tones were born. Since teaming up, the Barcelona duo has struck gold with their loungey take on electronica, fusing pop sensibilities with bossa-nova swing. Live, they prove that laptop acts need not be passive; along with DJ Niño, they've choreographed tonight's show with plenty of retro-psych stimuli. Local groove-hoppers ArtOfficial open.
