Music: Rock/Pop Manchild

There was a time when South Beach's strip had a spate of grungy live-music venues peppered among its glitzy nightclubs. In those days, Manchild were kings of the rock circuit, bringing audiences out night after night to hear vocalist/guitarist Demetrius Brown lead his power trio through multiple sets of bluesy, soulful rock. The band eventually broke up, and almost all of the music bars have closed, but Brown started popping up for solo performances just over a year ago, before initiating a full-on Manchild revival last fall. No one knows if the reunion is permanent, so you should catch the group while you can — it still rips.
