Will there ever be a more endearing scary-face than Robert Smith's Joker-esque mug? His band's pre-emo, goth-lite mix of new wave and twee pop is as brilliant as any cross-genre delicacy ever created. And even after all these years, it's impossible to shake the shudder that comes when you realize that the face on the door was a dream. The last time the Cure hit Miami, they hooked their gloomy jangle up to a pulsing electronica beat (they were performing at the Ultra Music Festival, after all), but it remains to be seen if the boys will be working with the same formula this time around.
