To some, full-moon parties have a granola reputation, but Moonchine's monthly sky-gazing shindig is much swankier than your average hippie fest. While its sleek back-patio seating and outdoor fireplace encourage moonlight socializing, the restaurant serves sushi and signature cocktails to the urbanites who helped the formerly run-down Upper Eastside neighborhood achieve its up-and-coming status. Though the crowd and fare may be more sophisticated than those at lunar gatherings you've attended, there's one tradition that remains intact: the drum circle. So bring your favorite percussive instrument along and give the DJ a run for his turntables.
