Churchill's was made for bands like Men as Trees. All manner of musicians do their thing at the old British pub, but its ramshackle stage is best suited for acts that make ungodly noise — the kind of din that sounds like an alley-cat orgy featuring a cast of a thousand strays. The Michigan punks in Men as Trees insert a few pretty, ambient guitar noodles into some of their songs, but for the most part, their catalog is made up of thrashing, bombastic scream-alongs. Tonight, they bring their DIY East Coast tour to old Winston's bar.
