Music: Global Elastic Bond w/ La Family Dub

Elastic Bond take the sultry, downbeat electronica of producer/keyboardist Andres Ponce and thicken it up with gutsy horns, punchy percussion, and wiry guitars, topping everything off with the playful vocal interplay of singer Sofy EnCanto and rapper Orion. The resulting sound — a blend of Latin, dub, and breakbeat — has found its way into more than a few bedrooms via the band's second album, Excursion, but the recording only hints at the brassy vibes the group stirs up live. At their monthly get-down at Circa 28, Elastic Bond are joined by eclectic DJ crew La Family Dub, who spin everything from Italian ska to French dub.
