Music: Rock/Pop Tantric

Emerging from the turn-of-the-millennium rock landscape that gave us bands like Creed and Godsmack, Tantric scored a major hit with "Breakdown," and then promptly found themselves embroiled in the kind of label and lineup turmoil that rips most bands apart. In fact, it did rip the band apart; the Tantric of today features only one original member. Now with a leaner, more roots-driven sound that's topped off with electric violin, it remains to be seen if the new Tantric can win over the old fans, and how many new ones jump on board. The Culture Room is a testing ground tonight.
