Even the most passionate skateboarders get tired of riding the same ramps over and over. To break the cycle of monotony and tap into the freedom associated with street skating, MIA Skatepark is exchanging its usual competition format for something a little old school, and a lot less structured. First, skaters test their board control by navigating obstacles in a slalom contest; then it's time for the best trick, where contestants attempt to one-up each other with their acrobatics. But it's the judges, watching the action from the sidelines, who decide who throws down the sickest maneuver.
