Sordid Lives lives up to its name: it's a trashy, shocking film — and it's utterly delicious. A white-trash matriarch dies in a seedy hotel room after tripping over her lover's wooden legs, and the whole clan assembes in Texas to mourn the loss. That Grandma Peggy happens to be boffing her son-in-law is just icing on the cake. Don't forget the cross-dressing Tammy Wynette-impersonator named Brother Boy, fresh out of the institution; gay-bashing bartender Bubba; or the butch honky-tonk singer Bitsy Mae Harling. And yes, that's Olivia Newton-John as the singer.
