If for some reason your summer is lacking drama, A Hundred Years Dressing Calderón at the Freedom Tower is a sure to elicit some gasps and swoons. Pedro Calderón de la Barca, Spain's celebrated dramatist, penned more than 100 plays in his lifetime, including La Vida es Sueño (Life is a Dream). A historical treasure trove of velvet whimsy and rhinestone romance, 40 costumes and ten costume designs are on view — courtesy of the Museo Nacional del Teatro, Compañía Nacional de Teatro Clásico, and Cornejo Tailoring — all of which have been worn during elaborate performances of a bygone era.
