Lance, played by Michael McManus, is a janitor and gigolo who really wants to be an actor, but keeps getting cast as an extra. After leaving his resume on the bed of a TV-movie scriptwriter, Lance is finally awarded his first speaking part — but it's the role of a dead man, based on the writer's deceased brother. Spookiness ensues as Lance and the scriptwriter begin a bizarre affair where sex becomes sustenance. Eventually, we lose track of who's playing whom, and once again director Atom Egoyan proves that the best way to get to the heart of a dark matter is to leave our heads spinning.
