Jamie Lidell has arrived. In his performances since 2005's fantastically received, surprisingly soulful Multiply, the demi-founder of the now-defunct IDM outfit Super_Collider has thrilled audiences with a charismatic one-man show full of electronic gizmos and looped vocal tracks. This time around, Lidell has enlisted the help of a full backing band to reproduce the polished funk and R&B of his latest record, Jim. With his gifted pipes front-and-center, Lidell evokes the pure pop of a Stax/Volt single with filthy bass lines, driving piano melodies, bluesy guitars, and plenty of unabashed handclaps. Come early and be among the first to taste the Flavorpill Orange Fresh cocktail — devised just in time for long nights at the beach.
