For the next four days, the 7th Annual Perrier French Film Festival unspools a satisfying mélange of celluloid. This year's slate is stocked with characters who find themselves in comedic tangles, from the reunited foursome in The Hikers in St. Tropez, to the couple who flee in Passe-Passe, to the bumbling pop who tries to bond with his daughter in Daddy Cool. The pièce de résistance of the festival, though, is Jacques Brel Is Alive and Well and Living in Paris (1975) — even if the film's subject was born in Belgium.
