Mart'nália is samba's second coming. As the daughter of samba god Martinho da Vila, the singer could have built a career for herself based on familial association alone, but she has instead established herself as one of Brazil's most vital artists solely through the quality of her music. Her father isn't the only icon she has taken cues from during her young career: Mart'nália has also sung duets with and been produced by legends like Caetano Veloso and Djavan, making her a true heiress to Brazil's rich musical heritage.
