More Flavor: Party One-One-Two: Miami's Unofficial Surprise Birthday Party

One hundred and twelve years ago, just over 1,000 yards from Little Havana's José Martí Building, a gaggle of carpetbaggers assembled to incorporate the city of Miami. Celebrating our town's birth, Fuacata! co-founder Rafael de la Portilla teams up with Camposition honcho Octavio Campos to gather a new gaggle, including Blowfly, Otto von Schirach, DJ Snow White, La Fortuna, Clarence Reid, and the Chongalicious Girls. While Miami's original 344 residents might not approve of the rather louche evening (they were notoriously prim), it's a cinch their descendants will be there, dancing their asses off.
