Like many groups in the downtown scene, Rimsky prefer their sound low-fi and twangy. The partiers religiously flocking to the Vagabond each Friday must as well, because the crowds grow larger with each act that comes through. Tonight, the band — a side project of Humbert member Rimsky Pons — becomes the newest addition to the venue's swelling musical family. Straying from Humbert's garage guitars, Rimsky are the more sensitive, reserved siblings who continuously search for the perfect words to express the emotions behind life's highs and lows. Their folksy ballads are the opposite of what South Beach usually offers and, as such, are all the more loved by a defiantly untanned crowd.
