It always feels a little like a private party at Broadway East. Maybe because this bi-level bar at the intersection of Chinatown and the Lower East Side is accessed by a narrow stairwell, followed by a long corridor, which opens out onto an oasis with high ceilings, exposed brick and one wall covered entirely in plants. Upstairs, red velvet banquettes enclose tables lit with candles. It's no wonder the space is used frequently for events.
