Unrivaled by any other event in the world (so far), PERFORMA is a biennial of performance art by more than 90 artists that blankets New York with a staggering variety of programming. Major museums, galleries, and performance spaces host events (many of which are free); select bars serve as meeting points for official, late-night get-togethers; and PERFORMA TV streams online while WFMU gets hijacked by the fest to broadcast at 91.1 FM. Italian provocateur Francesco Vezzoli kicks things off at the Guggenheim tonight with a free performance of Italian playwright Luigi Pirandello's Cosi'e (se vi pare) in the rotunda.
