2007 isn't over yet, but Chelsea arts org White Columns gets the first word on the highlights. If you didn't make it to Chelsea enough this year, catch up on Shannon Ebner's witty photographs of found text, Jay Heikes' muted humor, Adam Helms' post-apocalyptic wild west, and le Tigre founder Sadie Benning's urban slice-of-life animations. Curated by renowned art consultant Clarissa Dalrymple, who keeps a notoriously close eye on New York's art scene, the Annual gives neglected artists their due attention. For Dalrymple, this includes German conceptual painter Blinky Palermo, Haitian modernist Peterson Laurent, Czech photographer Miroslav Tichý and watercoloring conceptualist Nicolas Rule — artists who merit more attention than your average Chelsea PYT.
