With its ambitious series of performances, screenings, and lectures entitled A Question of Impeachment, the Culture Project builds a solid case for ousting Bush and Cheney. Bringing together an array of outspoken intellectuals and artists including Naomi Wolf, Jackson Browne, and Lewis Lapham, the monthlong festival is a merciless bonfire of the hypocrites. Opening arguments begin on Sunday and include a "LectureSlam," in which academics duke it out Socrates-style before a voting audience. Each Monday introduces a new allegation for impeachment via mock hearings in which legal eagles like Michael Ratner depose expert witnesses on issues ranging from Guantanamo to Hurricane Katrina. Sundays are devoted to more artistic expressions of political outrage — more Bob Dylan than C-SPAN.
