Celebrating a vibrant 20 years at the Joyce Theatre, Ballet Hispanico returns with two fiery programs. Palladium Nights is the troupe's homage to the legendary NYC nightclub, which, following its desegregation in the early '50s, sparked a Latin-dance craze that influenced performers, parlors, and clubs from coast to coast. Mimicking music greats like cowbell-heavy Big Three Palladium Orchestra, an onstage band adds to the glamour with effervescent cha-chas, mambos, tangos, and salsas. BH's equally inspiring repertory program features critical fave Club Havana and Tito on Timbales, in which choreographer William Whitener uses movement to evoke drummer Tito Puente's rhythms.
