Eyebeam says…

Eight-bit's revival continues with Blip Festival 2007, a four-day-long festival organized by artist collective 8bitpeoples and arts org the Tank, which celebrates the visual and aural splendor of the Atari, early Nintendo, and Commodore 64 game systems. Nearly 40 performers, musicians, and artists from around the globe (including Tokyo-based 6955, the Netherlands' Gijs Gieskes, and New York's very own Bit Shifter) convene for concerts, daytime workshops, and screenings. Concurrently, Williamsburg gallery vertexList hosts B I T M A P: as good as new, an exhibition featuring video and graphic works by reigning king of low bit Cory Arcangel, blogger Tom Moody, Rhizome.org editor and curator Marisa Olson, and a dozen other scavengers of lost levels and cyber demons.
