The Robots crew continues to demonstrate its fine taste in techno, enlisting the UK's Ewan Pearson and Detroit-bred Lee Curtiss. Pearson's style is at once fluid, metallic, and sublime; his production work and DJ selections straddle tech-house and pop, making for an energetic, euphoric dance-floor experience. Lately, he released a double-disc compilation of remixes, Piece Work, while his contribution to the Fabric mix series (35) exemplifies his enjoyably unusual cuts. Midwesterner-turned-Berliner and Alphahouse label staple Lee Curtiss opens the night with his beloved weird, percussive sound.
