Celebrating its seventh year with a selection of 50 films from the new wave of Indian cinema (from India, Kuwait, France, the United Kingdom, Canada, and the US), this year's filmmakers represent the subcontinent with tales of gritty suspense, social issues, and a dash of bhangra-fu. A series of four shorts, AIDS JaaGo Project, highlights cutting-edge Indian directors challenging myths and misconceptions about life with HIV/AIDS, while a more playful program features stories of professional cricket ambitions and kalarippayattu, also known as "the mother of all martial arts." Also, check for parties around town with open bars and free admission for those with ticket stubs and an RSVP.
