In the place where cockeyed monsters do battle with grumpy tomatoes and gold-lamé hearts rule, Soho's illustrator-friendly gallery hanahou brings in the things we love to hug for a plush art exhibition and holiday show. Equal parts toy craft and fine art, these stuffed beasts defy their needle-and-thread origins, exuding startling personalities all their own. Curated by plush collector Kazuyoshi Kitami, the show brings together handmade pieces from 28 artists, including nine fresh faces from Japan such as Saki Yamashita and his elusive Dreamy Bunny. Other delightful finds include Heart of Gold from LA-based I Heart Guts, Rebel Hedgehogs from littleoddforest, and Matt Campbell's Black Troll.
