Art And Who Are You?: Work from Saatchi Online

Saatchi's online gallery boasts 50 million daily hits in the US alone. Now, young curator Ana Finel Honigman has pulled together 11 artists from the site for an old-fashioned exhibition at Sara Tecchia Roma. Art-world cognoscenti already know many of the names: Eric Doeringer, for instance, is a familiar face in Chelsea, where he hawks his Bootlegs — $100 imitations of the $100,000 artworks in the neighborhood's galleries. Also featured are Bill Durgin, whose work was recently included in Paper magazine, and Jay Batlle, who has been recognized by the Whitney Museum and internationally. Here, Batlle shows The Minimalist Series, crude black-and-white paintings layered with excerpts from Mark Bittman's New York Times food column.
