The Native Theater Festival showcases Native American art in five nights of performances, play readings, live music, and panel discussions. Native Writers Circle Lifetime Achievement Award-winner Joy Harjo presents a reading of her new play Wings of Night Sky, Wings of Morning Light, and opens the festival with her rock-reggae band Joy Harjo and the Arrow Dynamics Band. The free events tackle the issues facing the modern Native American, including the need to both honor tribal history and engage with contemporary culture.
