Sightings have been wreaking sonic mayhem and ripping rock a new one for the past five years with their deconstructionist noise punk. One-man ear-annihilator Prurient makes straight-up noise of the aggressive, structure-hating variety, although some tribal rhythms sneak into his sets from time to time. And while the openers seem hell-bent on destroying the guitar, headliners Major Stars worship it by invoking psych and doom acts of bell-bottomed yore. Band founders Wayne Rogers and Kate Village are all about the riffage and the solos, so take heart, all ye rock 'n roll faithful.
